What is it with CSP and rain at athletics? ☔️☔️☔️
Another soggy day for sport but it didn’t stop our Ks2 athletes trying their hearts out for individual and team glory.
All children competed with great determination, spirit and sportsmanship against 12 other schools at the Morecambe and Heysham inter-schools outdoor athletics tournament.
Update: we finished 5th overall! Well done to all the athletes - a great result for our first ever time!

We also won some medals
Gold: William W, 400m🥇
Gold: Ava G, 400m🥇
Silver: Ava L long jump🥈
Silver: Boys relay🥈
Silver: Kika L🥈
Bronze: William W, cricket ball throw🥉
Bronze: Girls relay🥉

Congratulations to all the athletes for a phenomenal standard of competition in such poor conditions.
Thank you and well done to Mark Squires and his Morecambe Bay Academy students who ran such a great event!😀

That was different - a super soggy afternoon didn’t stop our children having fun and showing their talents at sports day.
It was lovely to see them all throwing, running, jumping (and slipping!!) their little hearts out.
Despite the rain, you can see from their smiles what a lovely time they had.

Well done to all family members for sticking it out despite the deluge. Thank you to all staff, particularly Mrs Pollitt for great teamwork and organisation.
Special well done to Bullbeck who were our overall winners!

This week's Thursday thought is actually a Friday thought - thank you to Johnny from our friends at NICSU!

Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight O Lord, my rock and my redeemer."

Two things we can keep a close watch on, our words and our thoughts.
It's good to use our mouth to say things that are uplifting, kind and
joy-bringing. Who can you bring an encouraging word to today? Or what could you praise God for?
And usually our words come from where our mind, or even (as this verse notes) our hearts are at. If we're thinking about good things and allowing God's love to fill us, then what we say will be even better!

Well that was a blast!
All back safe and sound - they should sleep tonight!
Another great day today; cooked brekkie, Edinburgh Castle, TGI Fridays, open top bus tour, lively journey home.
Massive thanks to all the staff for making this happen.
Well done to all our children. You were fantastically well behaved all the way through!
Top work CSP!

What a show! The children (and staff) loved the Lion King!
The food went down well too! Off to bed now before Castle and Bus tour tomorrow.
Good night!

We made it - we’re having a great first day!
“This is epic!” has been heard many times.
We’ve enjoyed the coach ride, loved Dynamic Earth, checked into the hostel and now we’re off for tea and the Lion King,
Happy children!
