🥉Y5/6 indoor athletics 🥉
What a wonderful night of athletics at Lancaster and Morecambe College last night. There are 28 teams in this competition, with 4 competing at a time. We started the night in 4th place, knowing that we needed a record 248 points on the night to secure 3rd place.
The children were amazing. They ran, threw and jumped like never before. Personal bests were achieved and school records fell. A long wait for the scores was worth it as we racked up 254 points, winning on the night and meaning we won the bronze medal for the second year in a row. This is a huge achievement for a school of our size.
This was the last indoor athletics comp for our Y6 athletes and we are very proud of the way they have represented our school over the last 3 years. They have real potential and we hope this has been the stepping stone to some fantastic athletics achievements as they move into secondary school.
Thank you as always to Barry and Kane who run this tournament every week - we are very grateful to you. Congratulations to Bolton-le-Sands C of E Primary School and St Peter’s primary school for finishing first and second, and well done to Slyne for such a close competition.
