Year 3 have finished the English theme this week, by writing 4 lines stanzas based on our superheroes. We read ‘Steve the superhero’ by Kenn Nesbitt, & adapted it to our own superhero. We read our poems to Topaz class. Some were VERY funny! In Maths, the children discussed favourite songs in the summer production & made a frequency chart. We then transferred this data into bar charts in our maths books. Caucus race was a firm favourite! Well done all, on amazing performances Wed & Thu night.

Diamond class have been investigating what life is like under the sea. We created some super sea creatures and enjoyed a range of underwater stories with rhyming words. Outside we have enjoyed observing seasonal changes and we explored feeling thankful for such beautiful grounds to learn and play in.

Year 4 have thoroughly enjoyed performing in Alice in Wonderland this week, and all of the children performed their roles beautifully. As well as that, they have continued with converting time between analogue and digital clocks, and reading bus timetables, and in RE and PSHE, they have looked at forgiveness and temptation, where they have been able to show their understanding through fabulous class discussions, written answers and fantastic artwork. Well done Year 4!

Wow wow wow!!!! Our key stage 2 children have done us proud over the past two nights! What a performance! Alice in Wonderland was the performance that did not disappoint. Well done to all who took part! Thank you to all the parents who have been so supportive and thank you to the PTA for providing the refreshments. Here’s to the preparations for next year...

A huge well done to the cast of Alice in Wonderland! You were truly fabulous tonight and showcased your many talents in lots of different ways! We can’t wait to watch you up there again tomorrow. If you haven’t seen it yet you are in for a real treat...

We are so excited for our school production of Alice in Wonderland tonight! Please could we ask that children are returned to school at 5pm ready to start at 5:30pm. If you are not watching the performance tonight, we are aiming to finish around 7:15pm so children will be ready for collection shortly after then. We hope you enjoy the show!

Year 6 children have had a great morning at Blackburn Cathedral attending the Blackburn Diocese Year 6 Leavers Service. Well done Year 6 you represented our school excellently!

School council were amazing at ‘Meet to Eat’ at BMC on Friday. Thankyou all, for your wonderful manners, your ability to make ‘small talk’ with strangers, & for putting smiles on faces. Everyone loved having us, & said you were a credit to school. Thanks to Mr Legg, for a great fish pie & apple strudel! Well done school council, for a great year of fundraising & fun!

Year 3 have started writing their superhero stories. We have been talking about alter egos, motivations, personal attributes etc. The children have had some great ideas. We were able to use possessive apostrophes in our sentences too! Maths has been about coverting analogue to digital time. Reminding ourselves of counting in 5s, & how the hour goes before the colon, in digital time, & minutes go after (always two digits!) We’ve sung lots in preparation for our summer production. We cant wait for the final show next week!!
