School Information

Caton St. Paul’s is an aided Church of England primary school situated in the picturesque Lune Valley village of Brookhouse, yet less than ten minutes from Lancaster city centre. Children are admitted from the village of Caton and Brookhouse with a number of children coming from other areas such as Halton, Claughton, Morecambe and Lancaster. There has been a school on this site for more than a hundred and fifty years and this long history has ensured that Caton St. Paul’s is at the heart of the village community. This is a feature that is special to rural schools and one that fosters an environment of trust and respect. We are proud of this aspect of the school life.

The building has five classrooms, activitiy areas for key stage 1, a hall and library, a large computer suite, a staff room and kitchen. The two playgrounds and extensive playing fields are surrounded by attractive countryside. We have five class teachers in school, a nursery nurse, teaching assistants who help in the classrooms, a school clerk, a caretaker, welfare assistants, kitchen and cleaning staff. Three peripatetic teachers visit the school to teach children to play violin, woodwind and brass instruments.
