Catch-up Funding

Because of worries about children ‘falling behind’ whilst in lockdown, the Government has committed to provide catch-up funding to each school: the school is then responsible to decide how this funding is spent and what the impact of this will be. At Caton St Paul’s, we have decided initially to spend our money on a mix of targeted intervention support, as well as resources that will be used to ensure all children make good progress.

Catch-up funding has been set at £80 per child, meaning our funding for this year is £13,840. This money is split between the financial years 2020-21 and 2021-22.

You will see in our action plan that not all money has been assigned as yet: we will continue to re-evaluate its effectiveness and update it accordingly. If you have any questions about the use of catch-up funding, please email head@stpauls.lancs.sch.uk for more details.
